Here are a few of the questions we get asked most by brides and may help you to make this part of your planning as easy as possible!

  • What location will the bride and her bridal party’s hair be styled?
“On-location” means your location! Where ever it is that the bride has decided to get ready, is where we will go. We travel all over the Pittsburgh, most areas of western PA and even into WV and OH.
  • How far in advance should I schedule on-location hair styling services?
Feel free to contact as soon as you like. However, the earliest that we will schedule events is one year in advance.
  • Do I (the bride) have to have on-location?
I also style hair at Copacetic Beauty Lounge in Pittsburgh’s North Hills, so you and your bridal party are welcome to schedule appointments at the salon if you would like my styling but do not have a comfortable space to have everyone relax while getting ready.
  • What is the advantage of having a stylist on-location vs traveling to a salon?
The main advantage of having an on-location stylist is time. We work around your schedule, which helps eliminate worry about running out of time. Trying to travel to and from a salon with your entire bridal entourage can be stressful and extremely time-consuming.  On-location styling allows more time for relaxation and spending time with friends and family.  Also, photographers love when a stylist is on-location. This allows for many candid shots while you get ready for the big day.
  • Where are you located?
We are located in the North Hills of Pittsburgh but travel to you for everything!
  • What happens if I get sick or can not make it?
We have many experienced stylists as back up should an emergency occur.
  • How far do you travel?
We prefer to keep my traveling within a two-hour drive of downtown Pittsburgh. But please email me to discuss your exact location needs as we have traveled many distances in the past!
  • Can you handle my bridal party of 10+?
Absolutely! We love large bridal parties. When needed, we bring additional stylists along to help. This allows us to always finish with time to spare!
  • Do you have a minimum requirement?
The minimum requirement is 4 people in need of hair styling.
  • Can you handle shorter styles?
Yes.  It does not matter whether it is a MOB blow-out, or a bride/bridesmaid with a shorter style. We love creating more with hair than what some people expect!
  • What time should I have my bridal party arrive to get ready?
Since wedding days are very time focused, we always suggest everyone needing their hair styled to arrive at the location within 15 minutes of the agreed upon start time.
  • How much time do you allow for each person?
Most updos can be started and finished within 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Are you sure you will have enough time to have everyone ready on schedule?
We specialize in formal styles and wedding updos. Being on-location allows things move a lot faster than in your average salon. We prefer to only have one wedding per day, so all of the focus will be on you and you alone.
  • Does my hair need to be unwashed to hold curl?
This is totally up to you. We prefer you to feel comfortable on your wedding day so should you choose to wash your hair, there are plenty of products that I use to help hold the hair in place all day!
  • Should my hair be wet or dry?
Dry unless otherwise discussed before your wedding day. If after your trial we decide otherwise this can be adjusted but it is best for everyone being styled to arrive with dry hair.
  • What should I wear the morning of my wedding while you are styling?
Please wear something that is easy to get off over or around your hair. You’d be surprised at how much easier it is to get a wedding dress on over your hair but how difficult getting a shirt off can be.
  • Do you offer a trial run?
Absolutely. All of my trials are held at Copacetic Beauty Lounge in Pittsburgh’s North Hills! We usually schedule this about a month before the big day so your hair is closest to the length it will be when you walk down the aisle. Of course exceptions can and will be made, so please let us know what will be best for you and your schedule.
  • How far in advance should I have my trial?
We recommend to all of my brides to take your time on this decision. Usually we get together about a month before the wedding. This gives you plenty of time to pick out a dress, look at of possible hair options, decide on a veil and be ready to try the perfect style.
  • Do you have any suggestion as to what kind of style I should choose?
Of course a wedding is a particularly special occasion, but we are always willing to help you sort through ideas! We suggest that each bride take into account the style of dress, the time of day, the location of the ceremony, whether or not they are wearing a veil and most important the average temperature of their chosen wedding day and what would make you feel most comfortable
  • How far in advance of my wedding should I have my hair color/highlights freshened up?
We suggest to all people involved in a wedding to consider having their color/highlights touched up a week or two before the big day.
  • Is there a place to have Elisha Evans cut and/or color my hair before the event?
Absolutely! You can find me behind the chair at Copacetic Beauty Lounge in the North Hills of Pittsburgh on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Starting in January 2016, I will also be at CBL the first Saturday of every month!
  • What/Who should I bring to my trial?
Please bring pictures of any styles  you have in mind. Also, please bring veils, fascinators, headbands or any other head pieces you want to try. As for who should be with you for the trial, some girls bring the MOB or a MOH and some come alone, this is totally up to you!
  • What should I wear to the trial?
Be comfy! We suggest brides to wear something that will not get in the way of the style.  A hoodie for example, is super comfy, but the hood will get in the way of wearing your hair down.
  • Where can I see more examples of your work?
We love to show as many beautiful hair styles as possible here on this site but you can also visit the Facebook site or  Pinterest board!
  • How long have you been doing weddings?
We have been doing weddings since 2008.
  • Do you have certification?
I am a Licensed Cosmetologist in the state of Pennsylvania. I have a copy of my license on me at all times.
